Exploring the Dark Side of Human Nature in Ali Land’s Good Me Bad Me: A Myth or a Reality
This study is an attempt to analyze the dark side of human nature in Ali Land’s Good Me Bad Me; it aims at shedding light on psychological and social impact of several behaviors that represent the dark side of human nature in this novel. This work is divided into three chapters. The first chapter defines the dark side in general, presents the various behaviors that embody the dark side of human nature, and tackles some of the main theories of the dark side attributed to some scholars such as John Locke, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Mencius, Carl Jung, M. Scott Peck, Rollo May, Viktor Frankl’s and their theories were applied in this work. The second chapter focuses on analyzing the themes of the dark side of human nature through the novel. The third chapter deals with Ali Land's narrative techniques, language, and symbolism, motifs, and themes. This research demonstrates the significant influence that the dark side has on human lives.
